Keep your focus and energy positive

Whether it is negative coworkers, culture, or just your own personal energy fraying by the end of day, assess what really brings you down about being in the space. Now keep those things front of mind while you forge your job search to help you envision what your dream position and workplace looks like. Stay positive, keep your focus on doing your best while you plan your exit strategy, and know that your better is coming, just keep putting in WERK.

Redirect your joy and find little things to bring you happiness throughout each day

Find your favorite playlist, jam to Pandora, sip your favorite coffee or tea, nibble on your favorite snacks, go out and enjoy the sunlight or weather on your breaks. The whole point is just to do something each day that gives you a burst of joy throughout your day. Keep in mind your continual joy depends on you, so focus on doing what it takes to maintain that aside from any circumstance. This time may also teach you things that you didn’t know about yourself that could be beneficial to your personal and professional growth.

Invest in yourself and discover new interests and hobbies

Whether it’s working out more, building a side hustle/ business, focusing on self-care, expanding your personal and professional network, going to conferences, etc.  Find anything else that will help you keep going, stay motivated, and not give up on your dreams. The added plus is if these new interests  possibly help you get a little bit more WERK and few extra coins. Take this time to expand your interests, knowledge base, and redirect your focus and energy. This will not only keep you sane,  but will keep you focused on achieving your short and long term goals.  You can then obtain a fresh perspective to your entire worldview and current situation.

Remain unbothered no matter the circumstance

A huge part of being unbothered is letting anything disturb your sense of peace. You must keep your joy and the key part of keeping your joy is to have it be impenetrable by negative forces or feelings. Don’t bring your work struggles home with you, keep cool as a cucumber, and even when all mayhem is breaking out find a way to laugh or smile it off. Whatever the work struggles are, they are not worth your health or sanity so never let it stress you out. Trust, a job will always find a way to replace you despite what type of dedication or impact you made. Let nothing rob you of your joy or momentum. Keep putting in werk. When something or someone is negative and attempts to steal your joy, shake it off, and keep going. Remember Queen, your dream werk reality is but a realized manifestation away, so stay woke, keep slaying, and stay focused on getting out.
