I’ve come to realize, more often than not, that entertainment is taking over the world. You may ask, what I am talking about; but, really it is. Let’s dive in…. They say perspective is everything and truthfully it is. Your perspective allows you to process what’s displayed before you. Your mindset is based on the perception and experiences you’ve processed. Mindset is key and necessary to have success in most aspects of your life.  However; entertainment has taken away the individuality and as it stands originality too! You see, we want to do what they do, be and dress how they dress. Live the life they live and have what they have.

So who is they?! They are reality tv stars, entertainers, social media icons etc. They shape our mindsets subconsciously! When you have a conflict you refer to how the housewives handled it. When you desire a fashion trend you consult social media. When there’s drama you’re sure to click every media outlet to know what’s going on. Most sit around and watch the entertainment network like it’s going out of style. Seriously, when’s the last time you’ve missed your favorite show? Whether it’s reality TV or your favorite TGIT episode; entertainment governs your world. When you’re bored what do you do?  How many books have you read this year? How many nights have you not fallen asleep to the TV? When you’re in deep convo with your girls/guys how much of it involves someone you don’t know!?

Wake up! We’re brainwashed!  We must abort now! (In my opinion, we’re more deceived than we’ll admit to) I’m not saying boycott your local entertainment shows- I’m saying DONT LIVE FOR IT! Go a few weeks without having to “Keep up with the Kardashians.” Miss out on “Love and Hip Hop.” Maybe consider a DVR for “Greys Anatomy.” You see, I can’t tell you how long it’s been since I’ve been able to catch a good show. I can tell you that it’s likely the reason I held a Masters Degree at 21: priorities, time, and skill.

I decided long ago that TV was essentially a waste. A time stealer, a brain teaser, and overall a mixture of some poison being deposited in my soul. Anything you have too much of is bad! I decided I would remove the TV out of my room so I could rest, that I would only spend 2hrs a day watching the tube (because we all need a brain break) and I would monitor what I fed my soul. This revitalized my life, my perspective, and attitude towards life, love, and my faith. So I’m saying revamp your entertainment intake. See what you can do without and I promise you won’t regret it.

I’m your biggest fan,
