Monday, May 15th, 2017 was truly a star-studded event as Dr. Earnest Pugh was honored for reaching top 10 on the Billboard chart for his latest song “I Need to Breathe,” from his highly anticipated album, Fully Persuaded. Just to name a few of the star-studded guests in attendance; Pastor Kim Burrell, Fox 26 news anchor Jonathan Martin, Congress women Shelia Jackson Lee & other congress members, The Musicians Wives, internet sensation Mr. Steal your Grandma and many more. The event kicked-off with a red carpet experience hosted by KYND 1520 personality Amber Shaw and national radio personality Lonnie Hunter. Throughout the event the crowd was serenaded with songs from Nikki Ross, Micheal Wyatt, Kathy Taylor & Terrance Hartford. The program began with the host for the evening Pastor Kim Burrell & Fox 26 news anchor Jonathan Martin providing some background history on Dr. Earnest Pugh’s career achievements; they would be followed by remarks from congress woman Shelia Jackson Lee on Dr. Pugh’s impact on the City of Houston. Dr. Pugh’s music as well as his contribution to the community via his 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, Veterans Emergency Relief (VER) and as a pastor symbolizes the qualities of a humanitarian and the reason is was awarded a proclamation on behalf of the City of Houston for his achievements in the gospel industry.
