Last night, Super Bowl 50 had our eyes stuck to the tv screen. But while you were taking score, I was taking notes.
As an entrepreneur, you’re always looking for the next strategy, next big idea or innovative way of doing something. You can literally be inspired by anything. Last night I as definitely inspired and I learned a few lessons. Here are the top 3:
1.Real bosses can come up even when they mess up
Am I the only one who saw Steve Harvey’s T-Mobile commercial? This man literally got a check for making fun of himself. Genius entrepreneurs find a way to capitalize off of everything and turn obstacles into opportunities. Instead of dropping his head in defeat after his Miss Universe blunder, he stood tall, took ownership for his mistake and ended up getting paid for it, not once but TWICE!
2.Even if your competition is ahead of you at the moment, it doesn’t mean you can’t win
One of the big stories behind this game was the fact that Cam Newton and Von Miller came into the NFL during the same draft as first and second draft pick in the 2011 draft. Back then, Cam took the number one spot. Last night, Von took the win.
Even if your competition is ahead of you right now, don’t let that discourage you from running your best race by sharpening your skills and keeping your eyes on the prize.
3.Use your powers for good and God will continue to bless you
Although I was already a Beyonce stan, she really won my heart with the message behind her latest song- Formation. In it, she shares powerful pro-black messages that the world needs to hear. But even more than just embracing her blackness, she’s also using her success to give back. Part of the proceeds from her Formation tour will benefit the victims of the Flint Water crisis. I’m convinced that this is part of the reason Beyonce cannot fall from her grace as King of R&B… nor did she fall during her performance [even though it was a close call]
When you WERK for yourself, you always have to be on the lookout for hidden messages and lessons. Next time you’re tuned in to your favorite show see if you can turn that entertainment into education.
Wishing you peace, prosperity and a whole lot of profits!
