12186529_10100553394480466_4050009016344616869_oI was headed to my favorite coffee shop rockin’ my new Jet Settin’ & Goal Gettin’ tee and I couldn’t help but reminisce about the last few vacations I went on. Cancun, Dubai and Miami. They were both very different, but the items I packed were virtually the same. So, as I daydream and jet settin’, I wanted to share a few things that I consider essential for all of my globe trottin girls! So, ere are a few things you shouldn’t leave home without! Check out these essentials for your next trip:

1. Headphones

This one is pretty obvious. You’ll want to listen to your favorite playlist or book while you’re on the road. But, what I especially love using headphones for is ignoring pesky people on the plane and the guys I’m not interested in at the airport LOL. Whatever your use, you’ll be fully prepared with a pair of headphones.

2. Scribd

I absolutely love this app! It’s essentially Netflix for books. It’s perfect for all of my fellow book lovers! You have the option to download audio books or read them directly on the app, whichever you prefer. Plus, you can choose whether you want to save the book to your library or stream it via wifi. They’ve recently updated their service and it no longer includes unlimited audio books, but it’s still the best deal I’ve been able to find. Get it here.

3. Socks

I can’t tell you how relieved I am when I stroll through security with a spare pair of socks! How disgusting is it to have to take off your shoes and walk barefoot through the line?! With a pair of socks in your purse, you’ll never have to stomach filthy feet again! Plus, if you’re prone to being cold your socks will keep your toes warm while you travel!

4. Journal

I always say “God isn’t required to repeat himself” and you never know what amazing idea or aha moment you might have while you’re traveling! Bring your notebook along so you’ll be able to jot down your next business idea, the list of people you need to connect with or a gratitude list to thank God for traveling grace!

5. Relax Melodies App

The flight from Abu Dhabi to NYC was 14 hours. I slept 13 of those 14 hours because of the relax melodies app! It’s a free mobile app full of relaxing sounds and even a guided meditation track. You can choose with sounds sooth you, set the internal alarm and you’ll be counting sheep in no time! Get it here. #ThankMeLater

6. Facemask

Call me crazy, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. I don’t consider myself to be a germaphobe or anything, but I won’t leave home without my face mask! My mother caught Pneumonia TWICE last year after flying and I’ve been paranoid ever since! One man’s cold could be your flu and ain’t nobody got time for that! You can pick up a pack at the local convenience store or on Amazon for all my prime lovers!

7. Plastic Bags

No, I don’t expect you to barf on the flight. Plastic bags come in handy to separate your dirty clothes as you wear them. There’s nothing worse than having to pack your cleans with your dirties and plastic bags do just the trick. Plus, they’re easy to pack and don’t take up much space in your suitcase!
