DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince had the right idea, “Summer, Summer, Summertime.  Time to sit back and unwind.”  That’s the plan for me.  It’s going down on my beach vacation!  I’m ready to go, but need to be prepared.  Let’s talk about being a Beach Babe.

Look like Beach Barbie and Beach Baldwin.  Ladies and gentleman, whether you decide to rock a string bikini, one piece, speedo or shorts one thing I urge you to have is CONFIDENCE.  You can’t pull off the look without it.  I won’t tell you what to wear because everyone has a different body type and preference, but whatever you decide you need to be comfortable so you can rock it like the superstar you are.  See “Beach Please” blog from April for more info on this.

Act accordingly; beach etiquette is a must.  The beach is a place to unwind and have fun.  However, your fun shouldn’t spoil other beachgoers relaxation.  Don’t play your music loud, please use headphones or keep the volume down as not to disturb others around you.  Don’t be a loud drunk.  Watch where you play so you don’t hurt anyone.  Lookout for the kiddies too.  Most importantly be respectful.  Respect not only other, but yourself.  Acting foolish isn’t a good look.

The beach is a playground.  There is so much you can do for activities at the beach.  Pick your pleasure.  Sand or surf?  Sand castles can be built; a great family activity.  I don’t recommend bury folks in the sand because it can be dangerous.  It looks fun, but you could create a sand hole that can cave in and trap people.  Being buried and potentially suffocating yourself or someone isn’t fun.  Other great sand activities are Frisbee, football, beach volleyball, bonfires (make sure you have a permit), and my favorite which is people watching.  Want to take it to the ocean/sea try surfing, fishing, sailing, paddleboarding, parasailing, jet skiing, scuba diving or snorkeling.  Whatever activity you choose please be safe.
