Detoxing- is it really good for your body?  This topic always comes up for discussion among those who are on their fitness journey. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary detoxification is the process of removing toxins (harmful substances) from the body. In my opinion detoxing is much needed when it comes to becoming your best self in mind, body, and spirit. Detoxing is like pressing the reset button on our bodies. We should all detox at least twice a year. Also, when you decide to be committed to a weight loss program, the first 7-10 days you are usually asked to detox your body. This is because detoxification eliminates alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and processed food from your system. Besides eliminating waste from your body here are additional benefits:

  • It boosts energy levels
  • Improves your digestive system
  • Helps with weight loss
  • Increases your immune system
  • Improves your skin and healthier hair
  • Reduces cravings
  • Provides clearer thinking which leads to more creativity
