Welcome to Confessions of a WERKaholic where we share the untold success secrets of fearless female bosses! One major life changing lesson I’ve learned on my Entrepreneurial journey is that the real power, the true leverage is in people. We learn from one another, we support one another and most importantly, we connect one another. My goal is to always learn at least one lesson from everyone I come in contact with because our connection was no accident. So, in this series I’m sharing wisdom and knowledge through the experience of WERKing women I’m blessed to know.
We’re talking partnerships, success secrets, business tips, personal development and every other essential topic for purpose driven women like YOU! In episode 2, I had the pleasure of chatting with Brandi Harvey who you may know as Steve Harvey’s daughter- but she’s SO much more! This conscious spirit, human healer and public servant is on a mission to lead God’s people and change the world!
In our very candid conversation, Brandi shared the power that you will possess once you’ve properly educated yourself. Whether you choose to seek formal education (& a degree) or not, your experiences will be your best form of education. In fact, when asked how she’s gained so much confidence she revealed that you must first become educated, then the confidence will come. Investing in enriching experiences, such as traveling is what “ups the anty” in your conversation because in order to hold an authentic conversation, you must first be well-rounded enough to do so.
Harvey can’t give all credit to books and traveling though, she named several examples of positive black women who were role models to her as a child. She also credits her mother with instilling in her the understanding that her purpose on this Earth is to serve God’s people. Brandi is doing just that through her work with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation and plans to continue this work as a future mother!
I truly enjoyed this chat with Brandi and I know you’ll be inspired to live your best life after hearing her encouraging and empowering message.
